Yeah, it's hilarious when different people say different things based on their personal experiences.

I think bringing godly items into the game would make it a little unfair, true true.

tho a wepon with a decent skin that not many people have is a wonder in itself.

It could be obtained only through pve questing, maybe having to go to all the different chapters lands and completing a objective then finally after a challange you are rewarded with a wiked wepon, skin wise of course and you would feel owange because you didnt have to farm one perticulor spot for 5 hours to get it.

Thats what I hate in gw you mainly only obtain items through drops, or chests. If anet were to bring in other ways of colleting unique skins it would make the game more interesting

They started to do the whole give a wepon on completion in propercies but it never went very far.

I mean just imagine that for completing the titan missions instead of a useless 50,000 exp you recieved a titan wepon with a exlusive skin for completing the mission.

I'm getting tired of the whole Philosophy of " I hope I get lucky this time".

Well, if you add in superweapons most people are then going to complain about how easy monsters are to beat. This leads to higher lvl monsters for which godly weapons are need to kill and Anet will increase godly weapon drops to allow players to defeat the monsters. Afterwards, the cycle continues. So, this would amount to basically increasing the lvl cap on all weapons and monsters which would effectively leave us right back where we started. Just my thoughts on the matter though.

maybe you should start trying not bring a minion master or worrior for change. Learn how to really play the game with some skill also down size your group! stop using cookie cutter builds!

there is some mission i don't even bring a monk no more!

hack and slash!

That's great if you have a party who thinks exactly same way you do.

But for your average pug, that's a pretty unreasonable handicap and it would piss me off if someone decided to specifically take steps to make himself less effective so to make the game more difficult.

Even though I said Guild Wars isn't difficult, that doesn't mean I would want to play using my feet instead of my hands on the keyboard to make it more interesting, especially when I have 7 people depending on me.

That's why you play with crazy guildies who are willing to do absurd groupings with you. Guild groups FTW! (This, of course, assumes you have a guild.)

er... how about no?

I have a massive dislike of the word "Godly", its a silly term which comes from Diablo 2 to describe overkill weapons which are super rare.

Nothing in Guild Wars is "godly", lets keep it that way. One of the things Guild Wars so appealing is the fact there is balance in armor and weapons.

uhm, Pvp characters have acces to Xunlai storage... your list is a little shorter than you think

I dont want "more", I want PvP and PvE to stay separate. It sounds alot like the PvP players want to make PvP and PvE viturally identical, with the exception that PvP players only fight other players. Thats wrong. Theyre two completely different things, as it should be. Hell, its kinda like getting 2 games for the price of one. I never PvP though, so I cant say much about it, but PvP players ARENT supposed to do the same things as PvE characters, like go on quests and such. Keep PvP and PvE separate.

having "godly" weapons would totallay destroy the main aspect of the game.
unlike many other MMOS *cough* Wow, eve online *cough*
u don't need to have been playing for 3 years to be as good as the people who have been playing for 3 years. this apilies to eve especially.
so if this "godly" weapon just had a small dmg modification so instead if 15-22 its 15-23 this whould make the game partcularly unfair on the those of us who don't have a pve war (just for the sake of this it is a war) and every time they want to use one they have to make a pvp reroll.
also even if u do have a pve war,
not everyone has 100k plus which they would need to buy these weapons, and not every player has the time to do this quest that would take "ages".
there are some casual players out there who don't go near forums and don't have time to play 3-5 hours every night.
also in my opinion u alrdy have your godly weapons.
are the green items from the deep and the warren not good enough for u?
zodiac weapons have so much ornate decoration what more do u want?
a sword that does your work for u?

and lastly,
i am sick of people i meet in pvp who play with pve players and complain that by using a pvp char i am cheating, and that i ain't a real player, just because i don't have every skill i need on my pve ele and a 20/20 staff, nor the vast amounts of money that i would need for these things.
having godly weapons would just make the bondary even bigger for casual players and myself and all the other people who don't enjoy farming and long pve quests that much, and/or didn't buy money on ebay.

No wait..it was lower max damage, but higher minimum damage....so still inferior..

uber lolz ?

pve is already so dynamic, if u dont like greens u can build your own perfect weapons, if u want pretty stuff in pvp grind them in pve, simple as that. leave it as is.

al i can say is, if u play guildwars to get "the best" item, u are playing hte wrong game, any item can be "best" with a diff build

While in other games there are hundreds of useful weapon mods (sufixes, prefixes), in GW we only have a few, look at the greens almost all items have the same stats: +30 life, +5 energy, 20% skill recharge or similar.
PvP may be balanced this way but PvE is suffering and is dumbed down because of this. PvE has no chance to get more useful weapon mods because it may create unbalance in PvP. Now everyone is running around with the same wepons mods, just different skins. This is simply wrong and not fun either and playing wow or diablo2 will not fix guildwars.

[x]yes, there should be PvE only items

Why add "PvE items" when instead they could simply add more mods?

No he didnt say skill, but i am assuming he means balance as in skill nerfs and buffs are due to PvP metagame. But stating that any one part of a whole controls the balance of the whole is already unbalanced.

There shouldnt items that are available in PvE only that can unbalance the PvP parts of it. Kvndoom mentioned some things PvP only chars are lacking in.

PvP and PvE should continue to intertwine until theres no distinction. Thats true balance.

unconditional weapons are godly as they offer dmg always. 1x% always with no drawbacks is pretty godly to me anyway. they range from 400k ish for a non max one to 1000 ectos for a nice skin / perfect one. unbalanced as hell too

I think the route of this problem is rpg players want rewards fitting for their hard work in the game.

The player base is rpg players don't forget that!

I would like to point out here ! this one of the reasons rpg player will never ever get along with pvp players!

rpg want better rpg not more hack and slash!

dreamhunk, i've said it before, i'll say it again:
YOU'RE PLAYING THE WRONG FRIGGIN' GAME.

Go play Planescape:Torment or Baldur's Gate again.

It's getting to the point where I almost don't think you're a real person anymore -- I'm starting to think that you're just a troll who's invented this "I R TEH RPGAR!!!1!" personality simply to bait us.
